Senior’s Section

As the Seniors’ Captain for 2026, I would like to welcome Old and New Members over the age of 55. 

I have really enjoyed being part of the Seniors Section these past 12 years and will be doing my best to ensure we all enjoy our Golfing Year! 

Entry sheets for Competitions, Friendlies and Lawrence Batley matches will be on the Seniors notice board, if you want to enter any of the above you just enter your name on the appropriate sheet. 

Please check the Senior WhatsApp group and the Notice board regularly for up-and-coming events. 

Any Casual rounds can be booked through BRS. 

The Club diary can be downloaded to your phone. 

The Diary has all the Senior Sections Competitions, Friendlies, and Lawrence Batley dates. Most Friendlies are on a home and away basis, when friendlies are oversubscribed, our Organiser Mr John Farrar, will try to be as fair as possible with team selection. It’s not about playing the “best” players every time – we can’t all be Ryder Cup standard! Everyone who wants to play in these matches will get the chance to do so, regardless of of their handicap. I could suggest that these matches are about having a good time rather than winning or losing, but sometimes it’s nice to win too! The Lawrence Batley Organiser is Steve Brown; he and his team will select the teams. 

Two away days have been organised: - 

George & Mary is Monday the 9^th July at Low Laithes Golf Club.
Conlan Cup/Stafford Salver will be held at Wath Golf Club. 

It just leaves me to wish you all a very successful and enjoyable 2026 from myself and the Seniors Committee.
