Barrie Seymour, Club Captain 2016-2017

A very warm welcome to the Captain’s page here at Crow Nest Park Golf Club.

Firstly I would like to say how honoured I am to be trusted to be at the helm of Crow Nest Park for the season 2016/17 and I will do it to the very best of my ability.

We have a great club here, nestled in the middle of Hove Edge and as Jim from the YORKSHIRE PGA said; ‘It’s a hidden gem’!
Playing the course here at CNP is quite an eye opener. I feel it’s a a tough course but if you are willing to take the risk, then the rewards are great.
We have some great holes – like the 4th (Bat’s Belfry) –  you either try to drive the green or play a 6 iron into the bottom which then requires a good second shot to the green.  Come up short though and you are under the wall!
Also, watch out for the holly tree on the 9th/18th – it’s like a magnet to your ball.
Then there’s the 5th, the water hole. It can make or break a round…

The course is in its 21st year and even after the winter we have had, it’s held up very well thanks to the hard work of the greens staff. There is no doubt it will be superb again this year with Mark and Dean at the helm.

Crow Nest has a warm, welcoming club house with slightly relaxed atmosphere. We have a new function room attached to the main Clubhouse, so if you are thinking of having a celebration, give the team a call –  I assure you that you won’t regret it!

The stunning view over the 9th/18th from the sun drenched seating area around the patio or sat inside the Rookery or restaurant is a real treat for afternoon tea, a delightful lunch or an evening meal. The latter provided by our fabulous in-house chefs.

You are more than welcome to bring the children down to introduce them to golf on our driving range – you can buy the cards or tokens from the Professional’s  shop or from the bar in the clubhouse.
If they get the bug, have a chat with our resident golf professional Paul ‘Diamond’ Everitt who hosts the Junior Diamonds on Saturdays for our younger golfers. We had over 40 children on one Saturday last year, so feel free to check out our website and look out for upcoming events in the year.

I very much look forward to seeing you on the course, or in the Clubhouse, very soon.
