The bi-annual Ryder Cup style event has been remodelled this year sporting a new name and trophy but with the same fierce rivalry of previous events.
Captains for this year were Darren Hartley (Europe) and Terry Daynes (USA). Both had assembled a strong line up and it looked finely matched with Team USA hoping to to retain the title.
The rivalry started early between the teams during Wednesday evenings players dinner, where teams enjoyed a fine meal and a few glasses of wine. They were joined by guest speakers Jamie Peacock (Rugby League legend) and David Taylor with the Captains announcing the pairings for the mornings foursomes.
Europe made a fast start and gained the initiative after day 1 with a four point lead.
It all came down to the singles on day 2 with Team USA looking for a charge and they came out fighting rattling off 6 singles in a row, putting the pressure squarely back on Europe.
Europe rallied and secured victory with Ian Clarke providing the point required for victory.
A fantastic gala dinner was enjoyed by all competitors, partners and guests on the Saturday evening with Elvis making an appearance and entertaining everyone.
Dean Stewart was awarded the Tiff Medal as best rookie after winning all of his matches over the two days.
