A full field of 26 teams enjoyed this year’s event, with dry conditions on the day after heavy rain had earlier in the week had threatened to disrupt the event. Thanks go to UKI Direct Insurance, the event’s main sponsor, along with sponsors’ teams of Morrison Utility Services, Scothorne Builders, Diamond Golf Studio and Lancaster Volkswagen.

We also had fantastic support for the event from our members and visitors alike who had travelled from all over the country for the day. The greens staff had done a fine job in presenting the course in trying conditions and some tough pin positions had been selected which made hitting the fairways a must, in order to be able to control your ball to the tight pins.

A car was on offer for a hole in one on the 8th hole with Paul Carman coming close to claiming the £17,000 prize after hitting the pin! The Yorkshire PGA did a fine job on the day, organising registration and starting. Gareth Evans made use of all his skills and course knowledge to post a winning Professional individual score of 70, pipping Paul Carmen by a shot.

The team honours were won by the team of Mat Daley, Ian Clarke, Chris Atkinson and Nick Muffitt with 13 under par total. We’re already looking forward to the 10th annual Pro Am event next year!
