The Seniors Open was recenty held at CNPGC attracting 104 entries from over 20 different clubs from as far afield as Hornsea in East Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

The exhausting heat and blue sky and bright sunlight of previous days was replaced with clouds but still a pleasant 20 degree+ heat which the 104 players faced with determination.

The winning team was the first team out at 8:20am Dennis McAuliffe, Jim Roberts, Bob Jackson and Chris Taylor, with a magnificent score of 103 points.
This was closely followed by a valiant 101 points in second place.

Is there a lesson to learn from this!? Please don’t all rush for next years early morning slots. Please form an orderly queue.

At the Presentation, thanks were given to  “all ” who helped organise and support the event, with special thanks to Gemma Stark for her unstinting hard work in ensuring we all got fed and watered during a very long and hot day.

Also shown below, is a picture of our Union President John Turner who acted as the morning starter who was determined not to over tax himself due to an afternoon game!
