Crow Nest Park golfers turned out in force on Sunday, representing the Royal Airforce, Royal Navy and the Army in support of Remembrance Sunday. Captain Mark Campbell and Lady Captain Jackie Turner introduced the order of the day and John Farrar gave a moving poetry reading. Crow Nest Park golfers gathered to pay their respects and held a two minutes silence before setting out to play golf and raise funds for the Royal British Legion. Fifteen ladies and thirty gentlemen players took to the course under blue winter skies and a swirling chilly north westerly wind  representing the Army, Navy and Airforce in a nine hole Stableford competition.

This competition was instigated by past lady member Van Whitehill in 2012 and has been a popular event in the Club calendar ever since.

The winning team this year under the captaincy of Mike Greenberry was once again the Navy recruits. The Navy have now won for six years consecutively. The Navy total score was 222, RAF 209 and Army 171.

Over £390.00 was raised by raffles, entry fees and an auction, with great support in the Crow Nest Park Clubhouse before and after the competition.

Thank you to all who took part and to Tesco Stores for donating raffle prizes.
