How did I do?
Welcome to the new golfing season 2013 at Crow Nest Park Golf Club.
I am Ann Stafford and it is my privilege to serve as the Ladies Captain for the ladies at Crow Nest Park for the next 12 months.
We are a relatively small section of 32 members but very friendly and very welcoming and we continue to grow.
If you are reading this and have never played golf before then come down and try a lesson with our Professional Paul Everitt, or if you play but are not a member of a club then come and give us a try. There are a variety of memberships available, 7 day, 6 day and 5 day.
The ladies play their competitions on Sundays and alternate Wednesdays but we are not restricted to playing only on those days. If you become a member but you haven’t yet attained a handicap and would like to do so, there are always ladies who are available and willing to play a round of golf with you and mark a card. Or if you just want to play for fun and then enjoy the hospitality of Design House in the club house or the Restaurant you will be very welcome.
We have teams entered in the Halifax &Huddersfield Evening league and the ADP league and over the last years have had success in both of these. Our Ladies AMAM and Ladies OpenEvents are very well supported by ladies from other clubs all around Yorkshire and Lancashire – a testament to our wonderful course.
We also play mixed competitions with the men, seniors and juniors which are enjoyed by all sections.
I think most of our ladies would say – it’s nice to play golf and sometimes win but it’s also nice to play golf with like-minded ladies just for fun and exercise.
So, to all ladies reading this I would say, whether competitively or for fun, I hope you all have a successful and enjoyable golfing year in 2013.
Feel free to speak to myself or my Vice Captain Julie Langfield, if you want any help or advice. If we can help we will and if we can’t we will put you in touch with someone who can.
