Captains Welcome
2013-2014
It is a great honour to become our 18th Club Captain. I believe I have learnt a lot over the years at Crow Nest Park and gained valuable knowledge and experience when Rabbits Captain in 2005, Junior Organiser and a member on both the General and Handicap Committee. I would like to think I am a fair and respectable man with plenty to offer our great club. I will always be available to help and assist our members, visitors and guests during my year in office.
For those visiting this site for the first time, you can be assured that the accolades which have resulted in our Club being ranked as one of the world`s top 9 hole golf clubs, has not happened by chance. We have several members who helped Richard Harrison (our founder and former owner) from day one and are still helping to continually raise our level of achievement. It is not by chance that those in the know, say were one of the best 9 hole courses around.
Our course challenges all levels of golfing ability and is a true test of golf. The course has shots over water hazards and has a number of tree lined fairways. During the last few years we have introduced new features and aim to continue improving the golf course over the coming years.
Unfortunately for you, there is a price to pay for the odd wayward shot, any ball resting in 1 of the 3 green-side bunkers on our 8th\17th will be “fined” 20p for the Overgate Hospice in Elland which offers care for terminal and life shortening illness and is the Captain’s Charity for this coming year. So please remember when entering the bar area, myself and my 4 fellow captains will be relying on you be honest and cough up your 20p.

After your round you will be able to enjoy a well earned drink, whilst telling the “tale” to anyone who will listen, about your great round or (undoubted) misfortune on the course.
