Captains Welcome

2011-2012

As Captain for 2011-2012 it is with immense pride that I welcome members, friends & guests to the website of our outstanding and unique golf club now in its 16th year.

Over the last 15 years I have been associated with and involved in, all the various facets of Crow Nest Park and it never ceases to amaze me how we continually go from strength to strength, not just the superb quality of our course but the unequalled friendly atmosphere in our newly refurbished clubhouse.

For such a young club we already boast many external honours won by every section, which shows the level of commitment our members have when representing their club, epitomised last season by Ben Adamson who won the HHDUGC Order of Merit. As a member of the same scratch team for the past 3 years it has been fantastic to see his progression, who knows where it will end?

2011 will be the end of an era regarding the Harrison family ownership of Crow Nest Park through health reasons and I know for a fact I speak for countless members & visitors who's obvious enjoyment with what has been created here at Hove Edge wish the whole family well in their retirement.

I would like to offer my unreserved support for Les Holmes as Managing Director and his board as they pick up the baton to take Crow Nest Park G.C onwards and upwards in the coming years.

What I am also excited about in my year in office is that I will be sharing it with my wife Ruth who I know will represent the ladies as their captain to best of her capabilities... and then some! (Well I had to say that!!)

Judging by the rapidly growing membership and the increased number of Pay & Play visitors that we have, it`s quite clear that what we possess at Crow Nest Park GC, is a product that seems to sell itself well, and who would disagree? The test of golf that our mature parkland 9hole (18 different tees) course offers is a fair test to all that take it on, but beware not to get carried away with its beauty as there is trouble aplenty should you stray! But even if you don’t quite manage the score you hoped for, there is always the haven of the 19th hole where you can tell your mates about the ‘monster’ 6 inch putt over a cold beer and a bar snack.

I can assure you all that my team of Captains, Committee’s & Management are ‘never too busy’ to chat should you have any questions or queries and will continue to conduct the affairs of the club with the unerring diligence it has been accustomed to in its infancy but as we mature we all need to take responsibility to help aid the further progression of our most prized asset........                                                        CROW NEST PARK GOLF CLUB.

Many thanks for your time and remember..drive straight, putt well but above all enjoy!
