Ryder Cup returns to the Nest

Sandy Jones, Chief Executive of the PGA arrived with a couple of minutes to spare just before 7.00pm for Crow Nest Parks Annual Gentlemens Dinner. As promised he brought along with him a special friend, The Ryder Cup.

Crow Nest Park pulled off a "coup" back in November 2005 when the, then Captain, Dave Wade managed to persuade Sandy to travel up north and attend the Gents Dinner. This years Club Captain Dean Wilson and his team, working for the last 14 months on this project, again managed to secure the attendance at the Club of one of the worlds great sporting trophy`s.   Just as he did 6 years ago Sandy Jones told stories and tales of bygone Ryder Cups and gave the 77 members a true insight into what goes on behind the scenes at one of the worlds biggest sporting events.

Also in attendance was Bradley Parks, Parnell Reilly a former PGA Captain, who had only recently visited Afghanistan with the Ryder Cup on a troop rallying mission. Compere for the evening was Mike Kinnear. Overall the evening was yet again a success with a fine meal provided by in house caterers Design House. An auction of signed golfing memorabilia, signed by some of the worlds great golfers specifically for this event, raised money which has been donated to the Club`s Junior Section. A special item from the Open Championship 2010 was donated by Chubby Chandler, ISM and the auction proceeds from this item was put towards the Captains Charity for the year.

Overall a great night for all who attended.
