BATS BELFRY RE MODEL UPDATE
For all members who hibernate during the cold winter months, it is now pleasing to report that progress has recently been made on the 4th hole tee area and path.Management had stated during the last few years that improvements to the 4th hole were necessary. Ideas had been discussed but the anticipated work had not been started until recently. The kind weather during January enabled Rob Gee and his team to get the machinery across to the 4th hole and rapid progress so far to date, has been seen.
For those who haven`t seen the course recently, we have removed a stretch of path which ran from the side of the 3rd green to the established temporary tee area on the 4th hole. This lost area of path will be converted to grass/lawn. A new path has already been laid which runs alongside the 4th tee area and runs down to the 4th hole bridge. A new permanent synthetic tee and surround is being laid into the existing yellow tee area. This new synthetic tee will have a permanent hard standing area which will protect the tee area from general wear and tear.
Overall we see these improvements as only the 1st stage as a general scheme of improvements and work which is planned and which will be carried out over the next 18 months.
Photos attached show the work that has been completed so far to date on the 4th hole.
