Captains Welcome 2010-2011

As Captain, I would like to welcome members and visitors to our course and website.

I trust you will find our course enjoyable and our website informative and helpful.
To have the opportunity to be Captain of Crow Nest Park Golf Club, I regard my election as Captain for the 2010-2011 season, as a great honour and privilege. I hope to fill this position with the integrity and distinction it deserves and to work for your interests and the Clubs interests during my term in office.

Established in 1995, Crow Nest Park has developed itself into one of the finest 9 hole golf clubs in the British Isles. Accolades such as " Best Yorkshire Club in 2007", "Top 10 Best 9 Hole Course in the UK 2009" and "Selected as one of the best 9 hole course in the world 2010". As well as quotes from established professionals " The best greens that I have played outside of the Open Championship." (Mike Ingham former professional Cleckheaton Golf Club & 3 times Open Competitor), and "The best 9 hole golf course in England" (Chris Hanson EuroPro tour member).  These are great testaments to the hard work and dedication of Past Captains, members and the staff over the past 15 years. Over these years I have watched with pride, the continuous improvements in the course to its present excellent standard.

Our "hidden gem" is a pleasure to play regardless of the time of year that you play it, as you will find the testing course in a condition that will provide a memorable round of golf whatever your handicap or ability. I believe that friendship and a welcoming atmosphere are essential attributes of a good golf club, this you can be assured, will always be the case at Crow Nest Park, whether it be a relaxing drink unwinding after a round of golf or a casual visit for a meal and a drink in our Rookery Restaurant.

Our Captain`s charity this year will be "The Yorkshire Air Ambulance", in memory of our dear late friend, Trevor Mitchell. Anyone finding themselves in a hazard on the 7th/16th hole (not just the new pond but any bunker as well), we ask if you would kindly make a donation via collection boxes provided in the clubhouse, to this worthwhile cause.

I thank you for visiting our website and hope you will join us soon to sample the Crow Nest Park experience.

Best regards
Glyn Owen
