I am writing to express our great satisfaction with all of the
arrangements made for the match between your club and Sandhill Golf
Club which was played last Sunday.
We were warmly greeted on arrival and provided with coffee and bacon
baps which went down very well.
The match was played in an excellent spirit. It was friendly and
competitive with much good humour. Your players were always ready to
help with information about each hole. Whilst we were disappointed not
to win, the outcome was in doubt right up to the 17th and 18th greens
of the last two matches so interest was maintained to the very end.
Everything was in keeping with the great traditions of our game which
other sports would do well to emulate.
Overall we were very impressed with the hospitality shown;
the course; the clubhouse; the food; the general ambience and most of all
with the people.
You have a set up of which you can be justifiably proud.
We wish you good luck in the rest of the competition.
